To the Committee Clerk
First of all I would like to point out that the article I read had a deadline of 10 June but appeared in the Campaign newspaper in Caerphilly on 11 June. As I was away for a few days this has been my first opportunity of giving my views on the proposed plan.
I am wondering if the Welsh government wants to turn this ‘green and pleasant land’ into a huge rubbish dump with various recycling boxes, bins and bags littering front gardens and pavements. Streets and towns would look like a huge slum, areas that are already considered problem areas would probably be 1 huge tip with children and animals playing amongst the rubbish. Areas, as the one I live in would lose their, mostly, attractive front gardens for a variegated assortment of rubbish and what happens to people who live in flats or have no gardens?
How are elderly people going to manage sorting things into various containers and then put them out the front to be collected. Similarly working people are not going to have the time to sort out things in various bins. I for one would rather pay a bit extra council tax and keep the system as it is which although mildly inconvenient does work most of the time. I am retired and I do not relish the idea of having to sort out my rubbish, I’d rather put it all in one bin.
